On the last weekend in October 2017, the Murfreesboro Public Square was a ghost town as everyone prepared for a rally of white nationalists. There were barricades bordering the square entrances and boarded-up storefronts. But there were also beautiful messages scrawled across them: “Love always,” “In the face of love, everyone is equal,” and “Murfreesboro Loves.”

On its anniversary, downtown Murfreesboro will be a place of celebration with Love Your Neighbor downtown. This free, family-friendly event is being planned by Wild Goose Chase Events and Murfreesboro Muslim Youth. Both organizations work hard in our community to help those in need.

Love Your Neighbor is an event meant to bring our Murfreesboro community together, regardless of faith, color, ethnicity, or anything else. We want to show everyone that love and peace are the faces of our Murfreesboro community.
